Art in Action: Campaign Update

Over summer recess, MSPs are being invited to see for themselves the positive impact of visual art in their constituencies. Tom Arthur MSP (Renfrewshire South) lodged the motion in support of the campaign in May.
Our members have done a brilliant job of engaging with their constituency and regional MSP’s, telling them about the important work that they do and reminding them that Scotland is recognised as a global centre of excellence for contemporary art.

Contemporary art is an intrinsic part of our communities, and as such sparks a wide range of economic activity, from feeding the ideas of the wider creative industries, to attracting tourists, to successfully informing strategies for social change in communities across Scotland. That is why we believe it is essential that we engage decision makers with the work that our sector does.

Across July and August, the following Art in Action visits have happened/been arranged:

2nd July 2019: Rhoda Grant MSP (Highlands and Islands) visited CIRCUS Artspace and Inverness Creative Academy
