'Re-evaluate the ceiling' (part of Glasgow Open House Arts festival)

Set in a Dennistoun tenement flat, it retains its appearance as a living space – but with a twist. The ceiling has remained a bit of a no-mans-land. Comprised of a bare landscape: aside perhaps from a solitary lamp. SID YOUNG explore this deserted area & ponder on how to transform a room whilst making functional / aesthetic additions. This concept deals with many layers – the limitations humanity have created; the borders between art & interior design; thinking outside of the box; the expectations of a household space; as well as a contemporary comment on the ‘glass ceiling’ due to both artists involved being female.
