CIVIC ROOM- Opportunity

We are delighted to share this CIVIC ROOM opportunity providing experience, curatorial sessions and studio space in return for invigilation for our upcoming programme ‘Of Lovely Tyrants and invisible women’ which investigates themes of spatial politics, gender and racial hierarchies within imperial architecture. This year-long programme, curated by Civic Room, Glasgow features four solo exhibitions by artists- Lauren Printy Currie, Ashanti Harris, Thulani Rachia and Marija Nemčenko and events programme in collaboration with cultural organisations, community groups and public audiences including CCA Glasgow.
Civic Room is seeking to recruit volunteers to assist with invigilation for our upcoming programme, Feb 19- Feb 20
Commitment- One block of 8 days of invigilation, 12am- 6pm Thur-Sunday
Exhibition 1- Lauren Printy Currie 14th March- 21st of April
Block one – Fri 15, Sat 16, Sun 17, Thur 21, Fri 22, Sat 23, Sun 24.
Block two – Thur 28, Fri 29, Sat 30, Sun 31, Thur 4, Fri 5, Sat 6, Sun 7.
Block three- Thur 11, Fri 12, Sat 13, Sun 14, Thur 18, Fri 19, Sat 20, Sun 21 April
Exhibition 2- Ashanti Harris 11th July 18th August
Block one: 12th- 14th and 18th – 21st
Block two: 25th – 28th and 1st- 4th
Block three: 8th – 11th and 15th- 18th
Exhibition 3- Thulani Rachia 19th September – 3rd November
Block one: 20th – 22nd September and 26th – 29th September
Block two: 3rd – 6th October and 10th – 13th October
Block three: 17th – 20th and 24th – 27th October
Exhibition 4- Marija Nemcenko 14th November- 22nd December
Block one: 15th- 17th and 21st – 24th
Block two: 28th – 1st and 5th- 8th of December
Block three: 12th – 15th and 19th – 22nd
In return Civic Room will provide:
Expenses- £60 per block.
Studio Visit or Curatorial Session: with Civic Room Director Sarah Strang and Associate Curator, Alasdair Campbell.
Studio Space: Use of Civic Room studio space at Many studios (equivalent to invigilation hours)
