Filmmaking and Curating
3 January, 2018–3 April, 2018
Summerhall TV, the producers of Art in Scotland TV, Art in Ireland TV, and Writer’s Stories TV, are looking for recently graduated filmmakers living in Dumfries and Galloway to undertake a freelance/part-time filming role throughout the region.
This proposal is subject to funding and would not begin till the Spring 2018 (or at the end of term if still studying). Access to a car and a clean driving licence would be essential but training, equipment and support would be provided to deliver a new ‘TV’ channel and to assist Merz Gallery with filming, developing a strong artist-focused documentary strand from our base in Sanquhar. For expressions of interest email firstname.lastname@example.org.
MERZ Gallery will be open for short periods at the end of an artist’s residency and for one-off art and design events/festivals etc. When our residency programme commences in Spring 2018 we would be keen to involve students with an interest in curating, to become involved with artists on residency here leading up to a short exhibition run.
When space in the gallery permits, those involved could conceive and set-up exhibitions in contemporary art, architecture and design that would be of local as well as international relevance (made world-wide in reach through Summerhall TV’s coverage). This proposal is subject to funding although it may provide an opportunity for a short internship/consultancy/academic project for students on relevant courses. More info here.
