An Introduction into the art of macramé, master the basic knots to make your own macramé plant hanger.
What does the course cover?
This one day taster workshop introduces you to a range of knots used in macramé. Using 100% cotton rope and a selection of coloured twines you’ll create your own plant hanger as a way to explore how the rope can take a more sculptural form in space. All materials are provided but if you have any treasured items at home, such as beads, gems, hoops and drift wood, bring them along and we’ll show you how to incorporate them in your design.

Anyone interested in learning more about the art of macramé.
What level of experience do I need?
Perfect for beginners, no previous experience required.
Who teaches it?
Lucy Wayman is a Welsh Artist, currently based in Edinburgh, and graduated with a Sculpture Degree from Edinburgh College of Art in 2016. Her work currently revolves around repetitive soft sculpture, where crafts such as macramé play a part in her production.
