Common Practice: Size Matters
11 October 2016
Size Matters: Notes towards a Better Understanding of the Value, Operation and Potential of Small Visual Arts Organisations was written by Sarah Thelwall and published in July 2011.
This paper articulates the value of the small-scale visual arts sector within the wider arts ecology, and explores the significance that potential small-scale organisations have in the present cultural landscape and economy. Finally, it advocates a reconsideration of present assessment and investment practices.
Commissioned by Common Practice, with support from Arts Council England.
