#UnwrapArt: Festive Markets

#UnwrapArt is SCAN’s annual campaign inviting the public to support Scotland’s artists and makers while buying gifts and experiences that loved ones will treasure. As we launch this year’s campaign, we’re highlighting upcoming festive markets and fairs hosted by our members – ideal for stocking up on unique gifts and seeing the breadth of creative work being produced by artists, makers and designers across Scotland.

Wasps Winter Markets
Inverness Creative Academy, 24–26 November
Glasgow Briggait and Perth Creative Exchange, 2–3 December

Wasps’ studio complexes across the country play host to a number of markets this winter, with the chance to pick up artwork, homeware, jewellery and cards from resident artists and the wider creative community alike.

Crafted Festive Market
Dundee Contemporary Arts, 25–26 November

DCA’s annual festive market takes place across the centre’s galleries, with different exhibitors selling their wares over both days. Expect jewellery, textiles, illustration, print, homeware and more, and make sure to visit the DCA’s great on-site shop while you’re there.

Strange Field Christmas Market
French Street, Glasgow, 26 November

Head to the East End of Glasgow for an artists’ market at Strange Field, with stalls, hot and cold refreshments, music, a bake sale from SCAN members Cabbage, and an art raffle fundraising for Medical Aid Palestine.

Endless Love Creative Makers Market
Fruitmarket, Edinburgh, 3 December

Browse ceramics, jewellery, textiles, print, illustration and homeware in Fruitmaket’s Warehouse space, and try your hand at embroidery and wreath making in the Studio.

The lush surrounds of Jupiter Artland get a festive makeover for the annual Christmas Fair, where visitors can browse stalls, enjoy mulled wine and street food, and watch seasonal live music.
