Network
The visual arts ecosystem in Scotland is a dynamic and interconnected network of people, places and civic infrastructure. SCAN is proud that our membership represents all facets of the Scottish visual arts community, from individual artists, arts workers, technicians, curators and educators to grassroot community projects and artist-led initiatives, alongside organisations large and small. Many of Scotland’s leading art organisations, festivals, production facilities, studios and galleries are members.
Members join SCAN to be better informed, supported, and well-resourced to deliver their vital contemporary art activity across Scotland. As a membership body and organisation, we bring members together, provide professional support and champion the issues that matter to our community. We also design and deliver key programmes and projects for specific art communities.
Our members work across all parts of the country – from the Highlands to the Borders, the East coast to the West – living and working in Scotland’s major cities, towns, rural villages and islands. Crucially, it is through building a geographically wide and multi-perspective network of both individuals and organisations that SCAN can gather in-depth analysis on the visual arts sector – both as a whole and for specific communities of practice.
By becoming a member, you can access our dedicated membership programme of networking, training and support, alongside benefits including free and low-cost access to events, and member-only resources.
