#UnwrapArt 2024: SCAN Member Shops
#UnwrapArt is SCAN’s annual campaign inviting the public to support Scotland’s artists and makers while buying gifts and experiences that loved ones will treasure. This week, we’re bringing you a gift guide featuring accessories, prints, apparel and more sourced from our members’ shops, which you can find online and all over Scotland.
EAF x Irregular Sleep Pattern tie
£12, Edinburgh Art Festival
This smart necktie is created from fabric designed by Edinburgh Art Festival’s uniform sponsors, Irregular Sleep Pattern. Each one is unique and made from offcuts that would ordinarily go to waste.
Sourdough mince pies
£1.75 each, Narture
These delicious handmade mince pies are the perfect festive treat, and – like everything made at Narture’s in-house bakery – all the proceeds go towards funding art projects at the organisation’s MAKE space in central Ayr.
Ditzy Athena T-shirt
£35, Welcome Home
The CCA’s resident homeware and gift shop Welcome Home is currently popping up at fellow SCAN member Tramway – head down for a selection of wares from local makers, including this fun graphic tee by Jemima Dansey-Wright.
The Silver Maiden print
£300, Dundee Contemporary Arts
DCA is known for producing beautiful artists’ editions alongside their exhibition programme – we love this print by Michelle Williams Gamaker, made to coincide with her solo exhibition Our Mountains are Painted on Glass.
2025 Calendar
£12, Project Ability
Everyone needs a calendar, and what better choice than Project Ability’s colourful ‘flora and fauna’ themed edition, featuring work made by the Glasgow gallery’s resident artists.
Kodak T-shirt
£35, Stills Centre for Photography
Stills carries a huge array of kit for the photography-inclined – including film, photographic paper and prints – but also has a line in more whimsical gift ideas, including this retro Kodak logo t-shirt.
Gannet Tote Bag
£12, Gaada
The Shetland-based arts organisation has a fantastic online shop full of printed wares from its TOOGS artists’ studio, including this tote enabling the wearer to ‘delightfully partake in the consumerist dream’.
