#UnwrapArt 2025: Festive Artists’ Markets

#UnwrapArt is SCAN’s annual campaign inviting the public to support Scotland’s artists and makers while buying gifts and experiences that loved ones will treasure. As we launch this year’s campaign, we’re highlighting upcoming festive markets and fairs hosted by our members – ideal for stocking up on unique gifts and seeing the breadth of creative work being produced by artists, makers and designers across Scotland.

Winter Design Market

V&A Dundee, 28–30 November

With a focus on high quality design, this market features work from Scotland’s best independent designers and makers, including recent graduates from local art school DJCAD.

Feminist Festive Fayre

Glasgow Women’s Library, 29 November

Glasgow Women’s Library present their second annual Feminist Festive Fayre, with a raffle, bake sale, festive tunes, and gifts ranging from bespoke candles to vintage copies of Spare Rib magazine.

Christmas Market & Open Days

Edinburgh Printmakers, 29–30 November

EP open their historic Castle Mills building for a weekend-long celebration of crafts and creative making, featuring activities, workshops and stalls from local artists, creative practitioners, collectives, and creative start-ups.

Parade Artists’ Christmas Makers’ Market

Wasps Hanson Street, Glasgow, 22–30 November

Dennistoun’s Parade Artists collective host their annual week-long market, offering everything from handmade ceramics and glass to prints, textiles, and jewellery, with a pop-up cafe and chance to meet resident artists and find out about their work.

Drill Hall Christmas Arts Markets

Out of the Blueprint, Edinburgh, 5–7 December

Across three days, over 120 hand-picked local independent artists and makers will be selling their work in the surrounds of Out of the Blueprint’s Drill Hall, with different stallholders on each day.

Shop the Halls

Wasps Inverness Creative Academy, 5–7 December

This weekend-long event offers a chance for visitors to peek inside the workspaces of studio-holders at Inverness Creative Academy, then browse a Christmas market across the building’s two halls.

Christmas in the Courtyard

Hugo Burge Foundation, Duns, 6 December

Resident artists and makers based at the Hugo Burge Foundation join other local craftspeople to showcase their wares, alongside sessions of Christmas crafting and live music.

Winter Market and Open Studios

Wasps Perth Creative Exchange, 6–7 December

Wasps tenants and independent artists from across Perthshire come together for this winter market and open studio event, which also features a pop-up cafe and exhibition.

Independent Winter Makers Market

Fruitmarket Gallery, Edinburgh, 6–7 December

Taking place in the Fruitmarket’s warehouse space, this market features both local makers and creatives from across the UK, offering botanicals, ceramics, clothing, homeware, jewellery, knitwear, stationary, textiles and print.

GASS Xmastravaganza Fair

Kelvinside Hillhead Parish Church Hall, Glasgow, 13 December

Glasgow Artists Sell Stuff (GASS) presents this festive extravaganza, featuring purchasable work by 30 artists, designers and makers, alongside a punk Santa’s grotto, a ‘Crispmas’ advent calendar, kids’ activities and live music.

Christmas at Jupiter

Jupiter Artland, Edinburgh, 6–14 December

Jupiter Artland transforms into a festive village for this annual event, with artisan markets, festive afternoon tea and Christmas film screenings taking place in the park’s unique setting.
