Exhibition Photographer
Closing date 9 March 2025
We are seeking an exhibition photographer, preferably based in the Highlands, to capture our contemporary art shows
Timespan is a museum and cultural institution in Helmsdale (North East Highlands) dedicated to using culture as a catalyst for political, social, cultural, and environmental change at both local and global levels. Alongside a complex programme of arts and heritage events, we host an art gallery space dedicated to contemporary art exhibitions exploring local socio-political issues with global resonance. You can see examples of a previous exhibition here: https://timespan.org.uk/programme/exhibitions/when-bodies-whisper/
We are now seeking a keen exhibition photographer to capture our upcoming show, “Red Herring” by Joanne Coates, opening at the end of March.
The exhibition space consists of two rooms, and the commission will entail up to 2 hours of shooting and the post-editing of a selection of photographs. Photoshop skills are essential.
We will pay for a full day of work at a daily rate aligned to SAU £350.
We would prefer and encourage a Highland-based practitioner to apply. We are open to discuss support towards the cost of travel.
If you are interested, please compile a short portfolio of previous exhibition shots (up to 3 exhibits) and a short paragraph/ bullet points (max 500 words) highlighting key experiences and post-editing skills relevant to the commission. Send them by March 9th (11:55 pm) at [email protected]. We aim to get back to you after a week.
