Funding Sources

Demand for support for contemporary art practitioners and organisations remains high. Here is a list of current funds that are artists, freelancers and arts organisations can apply for. Funding opportunities are also sometimes listed on our Jobs and Opportunities page.

 

The ArtQuest Directory is a noticeboard of various grants available to artists and organisations.

The British Council offers various opportunities throughout the year for different kinds of individuals and organisations.

Creative Scotland offers various funding programmes for individuals and organisations throughout the year.

The Dewer Arts Awards aim to support artists under 30 in Scotland who do not have the financial means to pursue their ambitions.

The Elephant Trust supports artists as well as small organisations and galleries with grants up to £2,000.

The Henry Moore Foundation offers grants of up to £20,000 to non-profit organisations based in the UK or internationally. There are different awards for new projects and commissions, acquisitions and collections, research and development and publications.

The Jerwood Foundation supports excellence and emerging talent in the arts in the UK and welcomes applications from organisations with a focus on making art available for public benefit.

National Lottery Awards for All Scotland offers funding from £300 to £10,000 for community-focused arts projects, with support for up to 12 months.

Tasgadh Small Grants for Traditional Arts Fund is devolved from Creative Scotland managed by Fèisean nan Gàidheal and open to organisations and individuals. Tasgadh is designed to provide support for traditional artists and organisations to create, perform, tour and showcase work.

The William Syson Foundation Funding is open to non-profit arts organisations and individuals who wish to apply for assistance.
