New Public Art Commission for Dunfermline Learning Campus
Closing date 15 April 2024
Fife Contemporary is excited to offer this opportunity for a lead artist to develop and deliver a public art project and commission for the new Dunfermline Learning Campus in Fife. We are working in consultation with Fife Council, Fife College, and their DLC partners Woodmill High School, and St Columba’s RC High School to deliver this collaborative public commission. The appointed artist will need to present engaging and innovative ways to involve student and stakeholder groups from all three DLC partner institutions in the development and design of the finished work.
The commission is suited to an artist with experience of creating permanent public art projects informed by community engaged creative programmes, where these programmes actively inform the resulting work. The permanent installation will:
- be designed with the natural environment, climate and sustainability at its heart
- be designed with direct input from the Campus learner communities
- be a permanent, outdoor, installation, which could include planted and living materials, within one of the defined locations at the DLC (see Appendix 2)
- be accessible and engaging to the complete campus community of users
- have the capacity to be interacted with, re-imagined and creatively responded to by future campus users, in projects led by other artists from Summer 2025
- be able to be produced and installed safely within available budgets
Payment Schedule and Terms
The total Artist fee for the public art project is £20,000.
