About
Sculpture House is an arts charity based in Ferguslie Park, Paisley. Established in 2022 by artists Laura Aldridge, Nick Evans and James Rigler, it was created in response to two urgent needs highlighted during the pandemic: the precarious nature of artists’ incomes and studio provision, and the lack of accessible creative opportunities for local communities.
We provide affordable, long-term studio space for a resident team of seven professional artists and deliver a wide range of free, high-quality creative programmes for the community. These include workshops for children and young people, open days, and dedicated sessions for adults with additional support needs. All our artists are fairly paid for their work, gaining meaningful employment, peer support and stability.
Our programmes are developed in partnership with schools, nurseries, community organisations and social care providers. Together, we create inclusive opportunities for making, learning and connection, ensuring that people of all ages and abilities can access the benefits of creativity.
Alongside our core work, we generate income through commissioned workshops, public art projects and community consultations – helping to sustain the organisation and expand its reach.
What makes Sculpture House unique is the way professional artists and local residents work side by side in a shared creative space. This collaboration fosters confidence, wellbeing and pride, and transforms Sculpture House into a living artwork – an evolving, inspiring place that reflects the community it belongs to.
