About
My creative photography projects engage with the documentary and travel vernacular, alternating between digital and analogue approaches to document the ephemeral, strange and unnoticed spaces of the contemporary. As a freelance commercial photographer, I work across Scotland and the UK on event, publicity and portrait photography.
My poems have appeared in Aesthetica, Aspidistra, Dream Catcher, Magma, Orbis and South Bank Poetry. My longform prose has been published by Hinterland, MIR Online and Acid Bath Publishing. Laughing Stock, an autofictional memoir, is my first book.
Beyond my creative practice, I work as a freelance communications consultant, web designer and content creator, partnering with individuals, businesses and organisations to provide high quality assets to support their marketing and communications needs. I specialise in working with communities and third sector organisations across the Highlands and Moray, helping them to tell compelling stories about the people, places and landscapes of our region.
I am a member of Visual Arts Scotland, Scotland Contemporary Arts Network, a former chair of Nairn Book and Arts Festival and currently work for Findhorn Bay Arts.
I have an MA in Modern and Contemporary Literature from Birkbeck, University of London, and a PhD in English from Birkbeck, where the focus of my thesis was unconscious collaboration in the novels of Siri Hustvedt and Paul Auster.
