About
A contemporary art gallery in a small town, in a rural setting which provides a workshop, gallery and artists’ residency in Upper Nithsdale, Dumfries and Galloway. Over the last three years MERZ has added Tadpole and No 5 residency buildings to our original Bothy and in addition to MERZ gallery we’ve opened the Museum of Model Art to focus on ‘art of scale’. No 5 offers two bedrooms (one double and a single room) with lounge and studio on site and is ideal for a group or family residency.
Working alongside Summerhall TV MERZ encourages artists, writers, designers and architects to explore ideas, with have short run exhibitions with filmmaking by Summerhall TV to extend ‘views’ to virtual visitors world-wide via our social media channels, TV broadcasts and the artists’ own blogs and Facebook Pages.
