About
For many people who migrate, ‘place’, ‘identity’, ‘home’ are not constants but shifting, transitory, even transferable.
Starting with found objects and images from childhood in America, from the Scottish landscape, from the internet, my work explores the beauty and danger of nostalgia and the unreliability of memory. Working outdoors in the landscape as well as in the studio I look for overlaps of personal narrative with global, historical ghost stories – our haunted existence in a fragmented world.
