Museums & Galleries Edinburgh (M&GE), part of the City of Edinburgh Council, manages a wide group of museums and monuments across the capital. These include the City Art Centre, Travelling Gallery, Lauriston Castle, Museum of Childhood, Museum of Edinburgh, Nelson Monument, People’s Story, Scott Monument, Writers’ Museum and Museum Collections Centre.

Our venues house rich and varied collections relating to the historical and cultural life of Scotland and its capital. We also offer an exciting programme of temporary exhibitions and events, with something for everyone to enjoy. Our vision is to inspire, enthuse and provoke through a shared passion for Edinburgh, art and history.
